Dr. McMurtry was born and raised in Washington, Pennsylvania and received his undergraduate degree in biology from Indiana University and his medical degree from Temple University. Dr. McMurtry received his general surgery training from Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and his urology surgery training from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. McMurtry is certified by the American Board of Urology, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has been practicing Urology since 1995. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Urological Association. Dr. McMurtry’s areas of special interest and experience are in urologic oncology, including the diagnosis and surgical management of prostate cancer, infertility and the management of urinary stone disease. Dr. McMurtry's wife, Dr. Paula McMurtry, is a Rheumatologist practicing in Columbia. They have two children. Dr. McMurtry's outside interests include woodworking and farming.
