Dr. Dresner, originally from Tennessee, obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology from Northwestern University and his Medical Degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Following his internship and residency training in the Air Force at Wright-Patterson Medical Center in Dayton, OH, Dr. Dresner completed his Urology training at Washington University, Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Dr. Dresner is certified by the American Board of Urology, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has been practicing Urology since 1987. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists and the American Lithotripsy Society. Dr. Dresner has conducted research in the areas of bladder and kidney cancer and has authored or co-authored numerous presentations, articles, and book chapters. He has previously held academic appointments as a consultant to the Navy at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, VA and Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX, and he currently is a clinical instructor in the Urology Division at the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, MO. Dr. Dresner’s areas of special interest and experience are in urologic oncology, including the diagnosis and surgical management of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer, reconstructive urology, and the management of urinary stone disease, and he offers the latest techniques in robotic and laser surgery for urologic disease, cancerous and benign. Dr. Dresner and his wife, Lisa, have three children and one grandchild. With the little free time available, he also enjoys reading, tennis, and racquetball, and every now and then has been known to go snow-skiing in Wyoming or salmon-fishing in Alaska.
